Honki Studio
Privacy Policy
Last updated 2026-07-26
This policy explains what the apps made by Honki Studio collect and how they handle it. It applies to CastBridge (屏桥) and, where relevant, our other apps. We keep the footprint deliberately small.
What we collect
- Email address — when you create an account, used only to sign you in and recover your account.
- Account identifier — an internal user ID our server generates to link your rooms and your purchase entitlement to your account.
- Diagnostics — anonymous crash and performance data used to fix problems and improve stability. It is not linked to your identity and can be turned off in the app.
- Advertising data — CastBridge shows a banner ad supplied by Google AdMob. For that banner, Google receives a device identifier (including the Advertising Identifier / IDFA when you allow tracking), coarse location derived from your IP address, and basic interaction data such as ad impressions and taps. See Advertising below. This applies to CastBridge and to our other ad-supported apps; it does not apply to apps of ours that show no ads.
What we do not collect
- Your screen content, audio or video. When you cast, the picture travels peer-to-peer between your phone and the viewing browser, encrypted with SRTP/DTLS. It is never stored on our servers, and our servers do not decode it. Screen content is never used for advertising.
- Precise location, contacts, photos, health, financial information, browsing history or search history — none of these are collected.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we never see or store your payment details.
How we use what we collect
Only to run the service and to fund it: to authenticate your account, to pair your phone with a viewer, to apply your purchases, to keep the apps stable, and to serve the banner ad described below. We do not sell your data.
Advertising
Since version 1.1, CastBridge is free with every feature unlocked and is funded by a single banner ad from Google AdMob, a third-party advertising SDK.
- Where the banner appears. Only at the bottom of the “Connect to computer” screen. It is automatically hidden while you are casting, while connecting, and on the Settings and purchase screens — it never overlays your mirrored screen.
- What Google receives. Google AdMob may collect a device identifier (including Apple’s Advertising Identifier, IDFA, when permitted), coarse location inferred from your IP address, and ad interaction data, and may use it to select and measure ads, including personalised ads. Google’s handling of that data is described in its own policy for partner sites and apps.
- App Tracking Transparency. iOS asks whether CastBridge may track you across other companies’ apps and websites. If you choose Ask App Not to Track, the IDFA is not used and you will see non-personalised ads instead — every feature of the app keeps working exactly the same, at no charge. You can change the choice at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- Turning the ad off. “Remove Ads”
(
dev.castbridge.screen.removeads) is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase that permanently hides the banner. It adds no features, because all features are already free. Once it is active, the AdMob SDK is not asked to load ads. - Existing CastBridge Pro owners. If you bought the earlier “CastBridge Pro” unlock, ads are removed for you permanently and automatically — no second purchase is needed.
Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by Apple. Payment is handled entirely by the App Store — we never see your card or payment details. We only receive Apple’s confirmation that the purchase is valid, which applies the entitlement (for CastBridge 1.1, removing the banner ad) to your account. You can restore purchases on your other devices with the same Apple ID.
Data retention and deletion
Account data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account from inside the app at any time; deletion removes your account and its associated rooms and pairing data. Live screen content is never retained in the first place.
Children
Our apps are rated 4+ and are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date above and post the revised version on this page.
